North Berwick Community Pump Track

Royal Burgh Park is a community green space located at the southern entrance to the town at Haddington Road, close to the foot of the Law. Adjacent to the North Berwick Community Pump Track and surrounded by sports facilities, play areas and walking routes, Royal Burgh Park offers views out across the town to the sea and Bass Rock beyond.

North Berwick Community Pump Track opened in September 2025. This 120-metre asphalt track was designed to be inclusive and accessible for riders of all skill levels, and is suitable for BMX bikes, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, and adapted wheelchairs. North Berwick Trust was pleased to offer part of its land as a gift to the town to enable the town’s new pump track to be built.

North Berwick Trust Ltd was delighted to mark the official opening the new park on 4th August 2026. The name Royal Burgh Park recognises both North Berwick’s centuries long status as a Royal Burgh and the link between the former Burgh Town Council and the North Berwick Trust who have developed this space for the community.

The park, which features a wildflower meadow, new tree planting, paths and benches, is a dog free community space which also forms part of a safe route to school, being close to both Law Primary School and Nursery and North Berwick High School. Royal Burgh Park is North Berwick Trust’s latest project to enhance the town’s amenities for residents and visitors alike.

North Berwick Trust commissioned Hinterland Studio to create a design for this space, which was brought to life by Faodail Landscapes. The Trust is grateful to all who have put a considerable amount of their time into this project, in particular members of the Trust’s Estates Group, who have given their time on a voluntary basis. We all look forward to watching the space being enjoyed and maturing over many years to come.

North Berwick Trust is delighted that NB Heritage has chosen to produce a guide telling the story the Trust and Royal Burgh of North Berwick. This guide, along with many other fascinating guides relating to the town are available here: Heritage Guides
