North Berwick Trust Ltd currently owns 20 hectares of land. This land is separated into four distinct geographical areas. 16 hectares is being developed as North Berwick Trust Park (shown in green) and is situated to the south of North Berwick, off Haddington Road. Within this area, 0.46 hectares is designated for ‘employment land’ (in red) by East Lothian Council.
A further 3.27 hectares of land is owned off Grange Road and split into two separate areas (in blue). This land is designated for broad educational purposes and part has been offered to East Lothian Council for use as sports pitches. The fourth area of Trust land is sited within the Walker homes development and is the quadrangle of land off Pilgrim’s Way (in brown). This land is designated as a commercial area and community hub.
Since 2018, the Trust has prioritised establishing the ‘Forever Fund’ grants programme to ensure funds are distributed into the community. The Trust is now in a position to review the best options for maximising the land it owns, in terms of potential uses and potential financial return, for the benefit of the community.

Education Land
This land is broadly designated for educational use and the Trust have offered this land in part to East Lothian Council for sports pitches. Uses for the second, smaller piece of Education Land to the South are currently being reviewed, with a number of interested parties declaring an interest.
Community Hub
The Trust’s Estates Group is currently working with a sub-group of volunteers to consider options for this site. There will be a public consultation in due course.
Employment Land
The Trust has not yet decided how this land will be used. In due course, potential uses for this land will be explored and there will be a public consultation.

This land is currently being managed as parkland, for our local community to enjoy for quiet recreation.
